1. Information We Collect

Zone Log collects information you provide when creating an account and logging workout sessions:

  • Email address and authentication credentials (via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple)
  • Display name (optional, for friend leaderboards)
  • Workout session data (heart rate zones, recovery points, dates, instructors, notes)
  • Workout screenshots you choose to upload for automatic data extraction (single or bulk uploads)
  • Beat81 booking links you share, and parsed booking details (dates, times, locations, class types)
  • User preferences, settings, and favourite instructors
  • Friend connections and social interactions within the app
  • Subscription and payment information (processed securely through RevenueCat and Apple/Google)
  • Device information and usage statistics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Zone Log service
  • Process workout screenshots using AI (OpenAI Vision API) to automatically extract session data
  • Calculate and display fitness metrics, insights, and progress analytics
  • Enable social features like friend leaderboards (when you opt in)
  • Parse Beat81 booking links to extract class details for booking coordination
  • Enable booking coordination with friends (showing who is attending which classes)
  • Process subscription payments and manage your Pro membership
  • Improve and optimise the application
  • Communicate important updates about the service

3. Screenshot Processing and AI

When you upload workout screenshots for automatic data extraction:

  • You can upload single screenshots or multiple images at once (bulk upload)
  • Screenshots are stored in secure cloud storage (Supabase) and sent to OpenAI's Vision API for processing
  • The AI extracts workout data (zones, times, points) from your screenshots
  • Screenshot images are retained to allow you to view them later with your session history
  • You can manually enter session data instead of using screenshot import if you prefer
  • OpenAI processes images according to their Enterprise Privacy Policy and does not use customer data to train their models

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider with enterprise-level security. We implement industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your information. Payment processing is handled securely by RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store—we never store your payment card details.

5. Third-Party Services

Zone Log uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication provider
  • OpenAI: AI-powered screenshot data extraction
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing
  • Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method
  • Sign in with Apple: Optional authentication method (iOS)
  • Vercel: Website hosting

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your workout data is only shared with:

  • Friends you explicitly connect with through the app (friend leaderboards are opt-in)
  • Friends can see your workout sessions and booking information (which classes you plan to attend)
  • Service providers necessary to operate the application (listed above)

When you use screenshot import, we send the screenshot image to OpenAI (a third-party AI service) so they can extract workout data for us. This is described in section 3 above. OpenAI’s handling of that data is governed by their privacy policy (linked in section 3), and they provide the same or equal protection of your data as described there.

Social features are entirely optional. You control who can see your workout data and bookings by managing your friend connections.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (including screenshots)
  • Export your workout data (Pro feature)
  • Manage your subscription through the app settings
  • Opt out of social features at any time
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

You can delete your account and all associated data through the app settings at any time.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • All workout sessions and screenshots are permanently deleted
  • Your profile and preferences are removed
  • Friend connections are severed
  • Backups are purged according to our retention schedule (typically within 30 days)

9. Cookies and Tracking

Zone Log uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use minimal analytics to understand app usage and improve the experience. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

10. Children's Privacy

Zone Log is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

11. International Users

Zone Log is operated from the United Kingdom. If you are accessing the app from outside the UK, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the UK and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Zone Log, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notifying you through the app.
